The mission:
Casper is the first mattress company to be called a tech company, and they are on a mission to improve how we sleep. The innovative online mattress retailer has expanded into pillows, bedding and even pet beds. It has received a total of $70 million in funding and attracted the attention of Leonardo DiCaprio, Adam Levine and Arianna Huffington.

The founders:

2. Flatiron Health: Fighting Cancer With Data & Technology

The mission:
Most of what we know about cancer and healthcare (more broadly) comes from clinical trials. However, 96 percent of patients do not participate in trials. Flatiron Health improves the way that all oncology data is captured, shared and utilized by physicians, researchers, life sciences companies and patients. In short, it is a healthcare IT startup that uses data to make a huge difference in the fight against cancer. They have raised over $300 million dollars in financing.

Ex-Google employees Nat Turner and Zach Weinberg were inspired to start Flatiron Health in 2012, after seeing their own friends and family battle cancer.

The mission:
